Bridge on CREA trails closed.

The bridge at the CREA property is currently closed until repairs are able to be made. The CREA Committee is meeting on Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:30 at the Town Office when we will discuss the redecking of the bridge as well as stabilizing the north end due to high water washout and beaver activity. We will post when repairs are made and the bridge is reopened. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Selectmen, or Dale Lawrence.

Public Notice. Emergency management Performance Grant for Cornish Flat Fire Station re: funding for action located in a Special Flood Hazard Area.

FINAL PUBLIC NOTICE
Pursuant to Executive Order 11988 (Floodplain Management) and Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) implementing regulations at Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 9, FEMA hereby provides final notice of its decision to provide Emergency Management Performance Grant program funding for an action located in a Special Flood Hazard Area. Funding would be provided to the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire.
The proposed action includes the installation of a new 20-kilowatt generator, heat pump, and propane tank at the Town of Cornish’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), which is located in Fire Station #2 at 187 Route 120. A map of the area is available upon request.
The project must be in the floodplain to service the Town’s existing EOC. The ‘No Action’ option and alternate locations were considered and were not found to be the most practicable alternatives. The selected location was selected due to its proximity to the electrical panel. The generator and its components would be elevated out of the floodway to a minimum of 30-inches above grade on a platform and the associated tank would be strapped down to mitigate impacts from flooding. Grant conditions will also require compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including with the local floodplain administrator.
Map requests and comments about this project and potential floodplain impacts must be submitted within 15 days of the date of this publication to:
Kathleen Philp, Environmental Protection Specialist Federal Emergency Management Agency, Cambridge, MA email, 202-655-8748
