William Balloch was a farmer who lived in Cornish from 1820 to 1893. Besides being a farmer, he also served as a Selectman and Superintendent of Schools.
His home, which still stands today, is located on the Connecticut River on what is now NH Route 12A.
He kept a diary recording everyday life in Cornish, and we are pleased to have eight of these volumes, covering the years 1869 to 1888. They are gift from Ed Barrett of Weslaco, Texas. Mr. Barrett also transcribed the diaries and made them available for us to share. We are so grateful!
