History, Ecology, and Wildlife of the Connecticut River in Cornish

July 13 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join the Cornish Conservation Commission for an exploration of the Connecticut River with special guests, Kathy Urffer, Director of Policy and Advocacy and Kate Buckman, NH River Steward, both from the Connecticut River Conservancy staff, and invited guests Denise & Paul Pouliot of the Cowasuck Band of the Pennacook-Abenaki People.

Learn about the history, ecology, and wildlife of the Connecticut River. We will have a boating safety talk and hear about the cultural history of the river, then set off from the Cornish WMA boat launch on Route 12A and paddle North to learn about the role the river plays in supporting wildlife habitat.

Bring a bag lunch, a kayak or canoe, paddles, safety gear, and your sense of adventure. Boat rentals are available from Bold Paths Adventures for a nominal fee. Contact Bonna Wieler, boldpaths@gmail.com, cell: 802 274 0810.

This program is limited to 15 people.

WHERE/PARKING: Connecticut River Boat Landing, Route 12A, 1/2 mile north of the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge
